Countertop FieldnotesOKLAHOMA CITY · AN INDEPENDENT GUIDE

Make your OKC showroom visit more useful.

Ask about your countertop project

A showroom can help you explore color and finish. It may not be the business that prices, fabricates or installs your project. Confirm each business's role before assuming a selection is a purchase or reservation.

A starting kit for your visit

  1. List the room and whether this is a new surface or replacement.
  2. Bring approximate lengths and depths with units; mark them as rough.
  3. Note sinks, faucets, corners and other cutouts you want to discuss.
  4. Bring optional room photos with people, mail and addresses out of view.
  5. Write down material preferences and acceptable alternatives.
  6. Ask who takes final measurements and what the next written step will be.

These are our suggested planning items, not a showroom's mandatory admission requirements. Confirm current visiting arrangements with the destination.

A local example: MSI's Oklahoma City showroom

MSI lists an Oklahoma City showroom and distribution location. Its own page says it does not sell directly to the public or provide pricing; its products are purchased through dealers and retailers. We have no affiliation with MSI.

Check MSI’s current Oklahoma City showroom information (external) for its own visiting details. We do not reproduce hours here because they can change.

Considering a remnant?

Ask whether the actual usable piece accommodates your approximate dimensions, edges and cutouts, and who will confirm that after professional measurement. Ask how long availability can be held and what agreement, if any, creates a reservation. We have no inventory feed and cannot confirm stock.

For a vanity or laundry top, check whether a remnant fits your complete layout, then use the usable-piece worksheet before contacting a seller.

What should you leave with?

Record the exact material or product name, finish, supplier contact you chose, and questions still unanswered. If a price or date was only discussed informally, ask the responsible business to confirm it in writing.

Build a showroom project brief

What if I do not have final measurements yet?

Bring rough notes with units and label them approximate. Separate the main counter, island and other surfaces. Mark sink and appliance positions as discussion notes, not cutting instructions. The provider must explain who takes final measurements before fabrication.

A useful note might say: “Kitchen replacement; main run approximately 8 feet; depth and sink details need professional confirmation.” This is a fictional planning example. It is not a measured plan or estimate.

What should I confirm about a remnant?

Ask to identify the actual piece, its usable dimensions, thickness, finish, condition and any reservation terms. Then ask whether your cutouts and desired layout can fit. Seeing a photograph or a material name does not reserve stock or establish a finished price.

What should I leave the showroom with?

A shortlist with identifiable products, unresolved questions, the business responsible for quoting, and the agreed next step. A showroom selection is not necessarily an installation order. Ask for documents you can compare, then use the written-scope comparison.

For a reusable starting point, build a private project brief. It stays on your device until you choose to share it. The separate inquiry form contacts this site's operator, not the showroom.
